Legoland Billund is not actually in Copenhagen but is located in Billund, Denmark. It was the original Legoland Park, which opened on June 7, 1968, right next to the original Lego factory. It's the second largest tourist attraction in Denmark, second only to the famous Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen. The park covers an area of 14 hectares and is divided into nine themed lands, each offering a unique experience. These include Miniland, Duplo Land, Imagination Zone, Lego City, Adventure Land, Lego Ninjago World, Pirate Land, Kingdom of the Pharaohs, and Polar Land. Upon entering the park, one is greeted by the impressive Miniland. This area is home to various Lego brick recreations of famous landmarks from around the world, like the Statue of Liberty, the Kennedy Space Center, and the Amalienborg Palace in Copenhagen. These models are built to a 1:20 scale using only standard Lego bricks. Venture into Lego City, and you'll find yourself in a bustling urban metropolis complete with firefighters, police officers, and other city workers all made of Legos. Duplo Land, on the other hand, is perfect for the younger visitors with its large, soft bricks and gentle rides. The interior design of the park is as impressive as its exterior. The buildings, structures, and even the landscape are made of Lego bricks, creating a colorful and vibrant atmosphere. The attention to detail is astonishing, with every brick meticulously placed to create a lifelike representation of the real world. Legoland Billund is not just about looking at Lego models, though. There are more than 50 exciting rides for visitors of all ages, including roller coasters, water rides, and interactive experiences. The park also hosts various events throughout the year, like the popular Star Wars days and Halloween celebrations. Legoland Billund is a testament to the creativity and imagination that Lego inspires. It's a place where both children and adults can experience the joy of building and playing with Lego in a whole new way. Interesting fact: The Legoland Billund Resort welcomed 2.1 million visitors in 2017, according to a report by AECOM and the Themed Entertainment Association, making it the most visited amusement park in Denmark.
